Jack Grealish has thanked Everton fans for how they've embraced him this season, as his Toffees future continues to be up in the air.

The 30-year-old had been enjoying a real revival with Everton up until mid-January, before suffering a stress fracture injury to his foot.

He's since undergone an operation to fix this, but he's not been seen kicking a ball in anger for the Toffees since the 1-0 win over Aston Villa on 18 January.

Signed on a season-long loan deal from Manchester City, Grealish bagged two goals and six assists from 22 appearances in all competitions this term.

As such, many Everton fans want to see a permanent deal struck for the winger this summer, as he looks to have no future at Man City under Pep Guardiola.

What has Jack Grealish wrote to Everton fans?

Many feel Grealish returning to Everton permanently is inevitable, given just how impressive he's been on Merseyside this season.

The Toffees do hold a £50million purchase option, but it's widely reported that they won't be triggering that in the hopes they can strike a deal with City for a considerably lower fee.

Grealish has made no secret of how much he's loved his time with Everton, and will surely be keen on a permanent return this summer.

Evertonians have really taken to the winger, and that feeling has clearly been mutual, as evidenced via the message he's penned to them on Instagram.

"Thank you for all the love and support this season. The Toffees," Grealish said.

Everton have missed Grealish during the run-in

Oh how David Moyes and Everton supporters would love to see Grealish fit and playing over the last few weeks.

The 3-1 home defeat to Sunderland on Sunday means it's now six Premier League games without a win, in what has been a hugely disappointing finish to what had previously been a strong campaign.

Everton's chances of qualifying for Europe are now all but over barring a final day miracle, but had Grealish been out there for them over the last handful of games, that could've been very different.

It's been a huge shame, but if anything, it's probably only cemented the notion of signing Grealish permanently even further, as Moyes' side is clearly a considerably weaker one in attack without him in it.
