Jordan Pickford vs Erling Haaland: Everton goalkeeper’s record ahead of Norway vs England
Everton star Jordan Pickford could face his toughest test of the World Cup so far when England face Norway on Saturday.
The Three Lions will come up against Manchester City's Erling Haaland, who has seven goals so far in the tournament.
He is level with Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi in the top goalscorer charts after his two strikes dumped Brazil out of the competition.
Pickford is fresh off a brilliant performance against Mexico and will be tasked with keeping the 25-year-old quiet if he breaks through the defence.
If he can do so, Thomas Tuchel's side will have every chance of making it into the semi-finals, just one game away from the final.
Goodison News has looked at his record for the Blues against the Norwegian hitman ahead of the quarter-final clash.
What is Jordan Pickford's record vs Erling Haaland?
Pickford has come up against Haaland six times in the Premier League.
The City man has often got the best of him, with seven goals in those games, including a brace in a 2-0 victory in October 2025.
However, the Blues stopper did keep him out in December 2024, saving a penalty from the former Borussia Dortmund star in a 1-1 draw.
The pair have never met in domestic or European competition outside of the Premier League, and have also not played against each other internationally.
The record will be a cause for concern for Tuchel's side as Haaland clearly has the better of the Hill Dickinson Stadium man.
How can England outfox Haaland in Norway clash?
Haaland has scored in every game that he has played at the tournament so far, which does not bode well for England.
He notched braces in the group stages against Senegal and Iraq, before being benched for the final outing against France.
He then scored in the round of 32 win over Ivory Coast, before his double against Carlo Ancelotti's side.
Pickford has only kept one clean sheet against the 54-cap international, and he may struggle to do so once again, given the form that he has been in so far this summer.
He may have to rely on the attacking options that Tuchel has at his disposal to score more than the Leeds-born ace, if the Three Lions are to have any chance of progressing.
