Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is already planning for a future away from football and Everton.

The English midfielder has reignited his career at the Toffees after signing from Chelsea for around £29million.

Last season, the 28-year-old was arguably one of the Blues' most important players, scoring eight goals and providing six assists in the Premier League.

Dewsbury-Hall hasn't been idle since moving to Hill Dickinson Stadium, completing a postgraduate diploma in global football sport directorship from PFA Business School.

The midfielder is sharpening his mind on and off the pitch as he considers his post-football-career options.

Alongside the former Leicester City and Chelsea ace, former Bournemouth defender Steve Cook and Coventry City's Taiwo Awoniyi were also part of the 2026 graduate cohort.

How Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall's Everton teammates reacted to postgraduate studies

Dewsbury-Hall has been impressive since moving to Everton and he still has several years left in the game.

The midfielder hopes to keep playing for a long time, but wants to map out his future after football.

With the postgraduate diploma, the Englishman is continuing his development off the field.

While Dewsbury-Hall studied for the degree, the seminars were scheduled to avoid clashes with matches and training sessions.

At times during journeys back to Merseyside from away matches, the midfielder had time to study on his iPad, but described receiving "weird looks" while doing so.

"I don't want to stop playing and then just sit around doing nothing - and this was something that genuinely interested me," Dewsbury-Hall told BBC Sport.

"Whether I use it in the future, we will see - but it is always good to do it now rather than wait until you have finished playing.

"Maybe some players just don't want to do things like this, but they easily could. It's just not their passion.

"I'm not saying this is my passion, but it's something I've done to show that footballers can complete these kinds of courses while they are still playing. Who knows where it will lead?"

How Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has fared this season

Dewsbury-Hall has started in all five Premier League games for Everton in the 2026-27 campaign.

David Moyes continues to rely on the midfielder, who's a star at Hill Dickinson Stadium in his own right, and one of the few game-changers in the squad alongside Jack Grealish.

Many supporters feel Dewsbury-Hall could add more goals to his game, having already missed two big chances this season, as per Sofascore.

The former Chelsea ace has scored one goal and provided zero assists for the Toffees this season, although he has created one big chance and averaged 2.2 key passes per game.

Dewsbury-Hall hasn't hit the heights of last season at the Merseyside outfit so far, but he will surely have much more to give under Moyes after the international break.
