Tyrique George solves an Everton problem no other attacker can as transfer indecision rumbles on

Tyrique George's future still looks unresolved as Everton continue to decide on whether to take up the option to sign him permanently.

The on-loan Chelsea star arrived at Hill Dickinson as an emergency option after Jack Grealish's season was ended due to an injury issue.

At the time, the Toffees were chasing European football, and adding more names to the attack was a must for David Moyes.

However, the Scotsman showed a lack of faith in the 20-year-old with his minutes limited to cameos from the bench.

George's time at Hill Dickinson Stadium has been tough. He made just one start for the Toffees in the Premier League this season, and an additional 10 appearances on top of that - a total of 11.

However, even in those limited cameos off the bench, the winger is more effective than the likes of Dwight McNeil, Merlin Rohl or any of the other wide options at Moyes' disposal.

George ended the season with three big chances created, with none of those being created in his four Chelsea appearances as per Sofascore.

That means, in just the 210 Premier League minutes he featured for Everton, he was able to fork out a big chance every 70 minutes he played.

In comparison, McNeil, who played 1,169 minutes for the Toffees in the Premier League, only created one big chance.

Furthermore, Iliman Ndiaye, who played 2,789 minutes, ended the campaign with seven big chances created – one every 389 minutes of football.

Yes, George may have a much smaller sample size, but the Englishman had to work with what he was handed, and creating three big chances in just that limited amount of time must factor into Everton's decision to keep George.
