David Moyes will be seething after the shambolic end to Everton's transfer window.

Just days after the Scot made an indirect plea to strengthen the squad, and not lose too many players, Everton had an unholy mess of a deadline day.

Folarin Balogun looked certain to join in a deal worth around £40million, but pulled the plug himself as Everton dithered following the results of his medical.

Iliman Ndiaye was then sold to Manchester City in a deal worth £65m, which many consider to be lower than his value in an inflated market.

Jack Grealish and Ainsley Maitland-Niles did arrive, but the sales of fringe players Beto, Nathan Patterson, and loan exit of Adam Aznou has left Everton desperately short.

The issue was brought up on talkSPORT on Wednesday, with host Jim White discussing the future of Moyes with Steve Bruce.

Even thost Toffees supporters who are not massive fans of Moyes must surely be feeling some sympathy one day on from the event.

The Scot has had the rug pulled from under his feet, and left with a squad looks ill-equipped to challenge for European football.

Putting the Balogun fiasco to one side, Everton's window has just been badly handled right from the get go.

So much so, that one fan ringing into talkSPORT pondered if Moyes could quit Everton over the drama.

White put that question to former Newcastle United manager Bruce, who does not expect Moyes to step down.

He said: "I don't think he will walk, because he's got such an affinity with Everton, and won't want to leave them in this situation that there in.

"Let's make no doubt about it, they're in a difficult situation because they look like from the outside financially they can't compete. Financially's a struggle for Everton at the minute."
