Assane Diao exit may now be inevitable as Everton refuse to go away
Everton have fresh hopes of signing Assane Diao from Como.
The Senegalese winger has long been touted as a target for David Moyes' side, who could do with more new faces in attack.
And in recent days, Everton have enquired again about the chance to sign Diao from Como this summer.
At this stage, that is all the interest is. A simple inquiry to understand if a deal could be possible.
However, the answer to that approach has yet to be made public knowledge.
But the Blues could have hope over agreeing a deal this summer based on suggestions in the Italian media.
How Everton can pounce to secure Assane Diao transfer
Everton have made improvements to their attack since last summer.
While Jack Grealish's loan effectively ended early due to injury, he was replaced by Tyrique George in the squad.
The Toffees then managed to swap Dwight McNeil for Brennan Johnson, adding even more pace to their attack.
However, based on their enquiry for Diao, they seemingly want to add another name.
Now, according to Tuttomercato, Diao's future is far from secure at Como with the Serie A club likely to part ways with at least one of their wingers.
The information from the outlet shares that either German forward Nicolas Kuhn or the Everton target will "inevitably leave" this summer window.
The Toffees will certainly be keeping a close eye on transfers at the Champions League-competing club, and if Kuhn does not complete a move away, that would leave a path forward for Diao.
Or they could look to make their move as soon as possible and ensure it is Diao who is sold out of the pair.
Everton are said to have tabled a £38.8m bid for Diao earlier this summer, and it remains to be seen if the price has dropped since that was rejected.
What would Diao bring to Everton?
Diao is an excellent dribbler and a player who utilises his speed to carry the ball up the pitch.
For a team like Everton, which can often sit deep and soak up pressure, that is an ideal characteristic to have.
According to Data.MB, in Serie A last season on a per-90 basis, no winger was involved in more offensive duels (16.28) or made more progressive carries (5.82) than Diao.
The Senagalese ace would certainly be a winger who would get the crowd on their feet with his dribbling.
