Beto uphill battle emerges after latest Everton transfer development

Torino will face an uphill battle to sign Beto from Everton in the final hours of the winter transfer window, according to Toro.it.

The news outlet reports (2 February) that while the Serie A outfit are interested in the Guinea-Bissau striker, they will find it difficult to complete a deal before the 3 February deadline.

It has become challenging for the Italian club to push for a move after the 27-year-old scored a brace for the Toffees as they beat Leicester City 4-0 at Goodison Park on Saturday (1 February).

Torino transfer approach for Beto too late for Everton sanction

While the Blues may have thought about selling Beto at the start of the transfer window, it seems unlikely that a deal will be sanctioned so close to deadline day.

If the Merseyside outfit were to part ways with the Portugal-born striker, they would need to bolster their attack with the clock ticking down until the end of the winter window.

Beto is also the only fit natural striker at the Toffees, with David Moyes dealing with several injury issues in his attack.

The Scottish manager relied on the 27-year-old against the Foxes and the striker put in one of his best performances in front of the Goodison faithful.

Everton are without Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Armando Broja and Youssef Chermiti, increasing the importance of the Guinea-Bissau international in the squad.

The Blues would evidently hinder the progress they have made in the Premier League in recent weeks by letting Beto go.

While scoring goals has not been an issue for the Merseysiders under Moyes, it may become a problem without a striker in the squad.

As things stand, Beto should remain in L4, and his potential exit must be pushed to the summer.
