Christ Inao Oulai wage reveal opens door to Everton transfer bargain, over to the Friedkins
Everton are continuing to monitor Trabzonspor's Christ Inao Oulai.
The Toffees look keen to add another midfielder to their ranks despite the arrival of Hayden Hackney.
It comes amid uncertainty regarding other midfielders at the Merseyside club, particularly Idrissa Gana Gueye, who is now officially a free agent.
The Blues are set for talks with Gueye, but there's no doubt that David Moyes would need another player in place of him if he didn't sign a new deal at Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Oulai could be that man after impressive performances for Ivory Coast at this year's World Cup.
Everton have only just recently been linked with the midfielder, but their mission may have already been given its first hurdle.
Trabzonspor go cryptic with Christ Inao Oulai valuation amid Everton interest
Everton are the latest club to be interested in Oulai, who is set to return back home from North America after his nation were dumped out of the World Cup by Norway last week.
The 20-year-old has admirers at Barcelona, PSG, Chelsea and other Premier League clubs.
The Toffees are said to be monitoring Oulai "very closely", but have yet to make their move.
One club that have been rumoured to have made that first step is Serie A side Fiorentina, though Fabrizio Romano has reported that Trabzonspor have played down the transfer talks.
However, it's now reported that the Turkish side are open to selling their young starlet, and Everton now know his current salary, too.
Oulai's current contract details
Oulai is contracted to Trabzonspor until 2029, though the Turkish club insist he is worth more than the suggested £21.5million pricetag.
According to Africa Foot, Everton are among the clubs interested in the youngster, despite Trabzonspor chiefs being unwilling to part ways with the player easily.
But a decent fee could see Oulai be sold, and the Toffees may not have to spend too much on his wages either.
The Everton-linked man is currently said to be earning just over £8,000-per-week, and though he would get a wage increase by joining a Premier League club, his demands cannot be too high.
The Friedkin Group will have to assess if Oulai is worth paying more than £21.5m for, with other clubs lurking.
