Everton are understood to be looking at Mohamed Amoura - and they may now be able to get a closer look at the Wolfsburg winger.

The Blues want to add to their attacking ranks this summer, as David Moyes tries to secure a European qualification berth.

The likes of Jack Grealish and Tyrique George are expected to be signed, but the Toffees could add another option with the Algerian.

Everton have completed the signing of Hayden Hackney, so attention will now switch to other areas.

The 26-year-old winger was injured in the opening game of the World Cup, a 3-0 loss to Argentina and has not played since.

The Merseysiders now have a perfect chance to take a deeper look at him after the latest update.

The latest Mohamed Amoura update is exactly what Everton wanted to see

Everton have been monitoring Amoura's situation recently, per reports in Germany.

BILD claim that he could be back on the substitutes' bench for the round of 32 clash with Switzerland on 3 July.

The report states that his current club hope that he can use his comeback to boost the chance of a lucrative offer.

If he makes it onto the pitch, then the Merseysiders will get an opportunity to decide whether to act on their apparent interest and the player will have an audition to try and earn a transfer.

Everton will have wanted to see him back in action before they make a decision.

A return to action could answer the questions Everton still have

Getting injured in the first game of the tournament has not done Amoura's chances of a transfer any favours.

If he returns, it could give the Blues the information that they need to decide whether to pull the trigger or not.

He notched eight goals and three assists in 30 Bundesliga matches last season, and can play across the front three.

He managed 10 goals and nine assists in the 2024-25 season, so he clearly knows how to make an impact in one of Europe's top-five leagues.

He would give Moyes the chance to let George settle in slowly, as he has shown that he is not willing to throw young players in at the deep end, and could be a decent option for the Blues.

They may still have questions, though, and he could answer them at the tournament, if he makes a comeback.
