Everton eye Taty Castellanos transfer: The 99-second masterclass that will convince David Moyes
Everton have set their sights on West Ham United striker Taty Castellanos.
The 27-year-old moved to the Hammers in the winter transfer window to help them avoid Premier League relegation, but was unable to do so.
With the Irons now playing in the Championship, it isn't surprising to see the Toffees trying to take advantage of the situation to pip the striker away from E20.
Castellanos could be on his way out of West Ham and Hill Dickinson Stadium could be his next destination.
In 18 league appearances for the East London club, the Argentine centre-forward scored six goals.
While the attacker ultimately failed to keep the Hammers in the top flight, the Blues will surely have been impressed by some of his displays, especially the one against Wolves in April.
What did Taty Castellanos do in West Ham vs Wolves?
On 10 April, Wolves travelled to the London Stadium and were convincingly beaten by Nuno Espirito Santo's team.
Konstantinos Mavropanos opened the scoring for the hosts, with the game 1-0 at the break.
Castellanos then put on a show in the second half, scoring a brace in 99 seconds between the 66th and 68th minutes to effectively seal the three points for West Ham.
According to Matteo Moretto on 2 July, the Toffees are one of the teams keen to sign the Argentina international, while Fulham are also in the race.
It's evident to see why the two Premier League clubs want him after his masterclass at London Stadium.
Taty Castellanos' performance in depth amid Everton interest
Apart from scoring two goals, Castellanos proved against Wolves that he can be a constant threat to the opposition if he signs for Everton.
As per Sofascore, the striker wasn't involved much, making just eight passes in total in his 82 minutes on the pitch, but two of them were key.
Another aspect the Toffees will be encouraged by is Castellanos' 0.72 xG at the London Stadium in the 4-0 win, highlighting that he can take even the most difficult chances.
Beto and Thierno Barry's lack of reliability up top has been a major issue for David Moyes and someone like Castellanos could be a breath of fresh air for the Merseysiders.
