Everton: Inside David Moyes' admiration for Jarrod Bowen as £20m Hill Dickinson switch on the cards
Everton have reportedly made Jarrod Bowen a top priority this summer, with David Moyes pushing for the club to reunite him with his former West Ham United star.
The Blues have many areas which they will look to improve, but the right-wing spot has taken a slight twist in recent weeks.
Iliman Ndiaye is a much-loved figure at Hill Dickinson, though he and his representatives have rejected multiple contract offers.
The Toffees could be planning to replace the Senegal international if they cannot reach an agreement for a new deal before the transfer window closes.
Everton could look to cash in on the 26-year-old, but if he does stay, there's no reason why the Blues won't look to give him competition.
Moyes sees Bowen as Ndiaye's replacement, and given his previous comments on the West Ham star, it's clear to see why he wants to reunite with the Englishman.
Inside David Moyes' admiration for Jarrod Bowen
Bowen is officially a Championship player following West Ham's relegation to the second tier, and there's still a chance he could stay with the Hammers.
However, Alan Nixon has reported via his Patreon that Moyes is pushing for Everton to make a £20million bid for the 29-year-old.
Moyes' admiration for Bowen was discovered at West Ham, as he watched the ex-Hull City star go from an unpolished talent to a world-class star.
The former Hammers boss explained Bowen's versatility in December 2023, while speaking to talkSPORT: "Jarrod's been able to step in, he's scored goals, he's played really well when he's been up front, there's flexibility with him.
Moyes also shared his delight at Bowen's work ethic back in February of 2024, while discussing the player's chances of making the England squad.
The former West Ham boss said, as quoted by ESPN: "Jarrod's actually been taking the fight to them in all the games. His all-around play, the way he's working.
"I mean, I thought he had three or four other runs in the game where he was a threat all night. Generally, I think the goals will hopefully get him back in Gareth's [Southgate's] thinking."
So it's not just the West Ham skipper's goal threat and playmaking ability that Moyes clearly loves, but it's everything else that he offers, too.
Everton's interest in Bowen dates back eight years
Moyes will always cherish the opportunity of managing Bowen in his career, even if the two don't find each other again in Merseyside with Everton.
The forward scored the winning goal of Moyes' only European triumph as a manager when West Ham won the UEFA Conference League back in 2023.
But it's not just Moyes who have had an admiration for Bowen, as the Toffees themselves have always been big on the attacker.
Their interest was first reported in 2018, when Everton were preparing a £12m bid to sign him from Hull, according to Sports Mole.
Though Moyes rates Bowen at £20m, the issue may be what West Ham value their beloved captain at, but time will tell.
