Everton on verge of 'pretty obvious' Jack Grealish answer as Man City transfer nears conclusion

Everton may be anxiously waiting to find out what will happen with Jack Grealish at Manchester City this summer.

The winger has returned to his parent club following an anti-climactic loan spell with the Toffees last season.

The 30-year-old was an instant hit at Hill Dickinson, showing the form of his past self and becoming a fan favourite.

However, Grealish's time with Everton was cut short due to a foot injury that kept him on the sidelines for the second half of the season.

Though the Blues would welcome the forward back with open arms, David Moyes already admitted the £50million buy option wouldn't be triggered.

Grealish could now be given another chance at Man City following the arrival of Enzo Maresca, and Everton will soon learn of his first-team chances before the season starts.

Goodison News has gathered information that Everton want to re-sign Grealish, but will assess the chance of doing so once he has recovered from injury.

The former England international has been back on the grass recently, but is not near being match fit, and so the possibility of a return could go on until the end of the window.

Manchester Evening News has suggested how a "telling" signal on Grealish's future could come if he is on the plane for Man City's pre-season tour or not.

Maresca's side begin their tour of Asia this week, but if the former Everton loanee doesn't make the cut, it'll be "pretty obvious" that he won't be a part of the plans at the Etihad for the forthcoming campaign.

But that doesn't necessarily make Everton his destined next club.

Why Grealish to Everton isn't as simple as David Moyes hopes

Everton and Man City have so far been apart in valuation for Grealish during transfer talks.

There's also no guarantee that the player himself will be fit come the start of the season, which could prevent a medical from being completed successfully.

Not only that, but it remains likely that Everton would prefer if Grealish took a wage cut to return to Hill Dickinson, with him said to be currently earning north of £300,000 per week.

There's every chance that clubs with better finances are monitoring his situation, as it would be no surprise to see teams in Saudi Arabia paying close attention.

Either way, Everton will get a big clue very shortly.
