Everton: Tyrique George's Finch Farm return timeline revealed amid Chelsea agreement
Everton have reached an agreement with Chelsea for Tyrique George to come back to Hill Dickinson Stadium.
The Toffees have finally reached a compromise with the Blues after recent negotiations, as David Moyes is set for his third signing of the summer.
George will join Merlin Rohl, who joined the Blues permanently for £18million, as well as Hayden Hackney after the latter was announced on a five-year deal earlier this week.
Everton didn't want to pay a reported £25m buy clause for the Chelsea loanee this summer, but were keen to renegotiate with his parent club for a better deal.
The England U21 international will become the Toffees' next signing, barring any late hitches, after leaving Moyes impressed during his first spell with the club.
Now, George could link back up with his teammates at Finch Farm as early as next week, after full details of his imminent return were revealed.
Tyrique George set for return in time for pre-season testing
According to the Liverpool Echo, Everton will pay an initial £18m for George, before any possible add-ons.
Those add-ons are said to be worth an extra £6m, which would take the full deal to £24m, as Chelsea also inserted a 15 per cent sell-on clause.
It is "expected" that George will become an Everton player again in time for the return of senior players at Finch Farm on Friday.
It will be the first day of pre-season, where testing will be done to gather data and identify any possible injury issues, though George will have already completed a medical days prior.
There was already plenty of data from last season which proved why the Toffees were so keen to bring the 20-year-old back to Finch Farm.
The data Everton used before making move to sign George again
Moyes has been criticised for his lack of trust in young players, and it could be argued that this was the case when George had his loan spell with the club.
The Englishman only started one Premier League game and was only given the chance to impress during cameos.
However, during those substitute appearances, he clearly did enough to convince Everton figures that he can one day show the promise he displayed with Chelsea in the 2024-25 campaign.
As seen in the graphic above, the left-winger racked up an impressive 7.08 Sofascore rating for his performances in the UEFA Conference League for Chelsea during the 2024-25 season.
This may be the data that Everton used alongside the cameos George made to convince them that he was worth the £18m bid.
