How Anthony Gordon could be used in Iliman Ndiaye's possible Everton exit

Anthony Gordon could play a part as Iliman Ndiaye continues to be linked with an Everton exit.

The Senegal international is coming off the back of a largely frustrating World Cup campaign.

He made just one start at the summer tournament off the back of yet another excellent season with the Toffees.

His nine goal involvements in all competitions was just the tip of an iceberg as he continued to act as the Blues' talisman.

That was always going to spark interest in his signature moving deeper into the window.

Ndiaye continues to be linked away, while Everton look set to use Gordon as a measure for any deal.

How much do Everton want for Iliman Ndiaye?

It is always going to be difficult for the Merseyside outfit to keep hold of their best players if a fair bid comes in.

That could soon be possible for the attacking midfielder as links away continue to emerge.

Saudi Arabian outfit Al Hilal are the latest to showcase an interest, but the Toffees are set to demand a sizable fee.

The Athletic reported on Tuesday that Everton are expected to ask for around the same £70million that Barcelona paid for Gordon this summer.

The Saudi Pro League side have plenty of work yet to get a deal done and have received encouragement from the attacking midfielders' camp to think about an opening offer.

Using Gordon as a yardstick for a sale certainly makes sense, meaning that a near-record sale could be on the cards.

Where would Ndiaye sit in record sales at Everton?

There would certainly be a decision to make should Al Hilal table a bid in and around that £70m mark.

That sort of money is difficult to turn down for anyone, but he is almost irreplicable at this stage in L3.

His ability on the ball is something that not many others would be able to replicate.

With that being said, Everton have been willing to sell their best players in the past for the right fee.

That saw Romelu Lukaku join Manchester United in 2017 for a fee in the region of £75m.

Second to him was Amadou Onana's Aston Villa switch at a value of around £50m.

That would likely see Ndiaye sit second on that record departure list, or even at the top of the pile if the Toffees can squeeze more out of Al Hilal this summer.
