How Daizen Maeda has already made Premier League feelings known amid Everton interest
Daizen Maeda and Everton could be joining forces this summer.
The Japanese forward has been linked with a move to Hill Dickinson Stadium as David Moyes looks to add more firepower to his squad.
Maeda is a born-winner, securing five Scottish Premiership titles while at Celtic, but he now seemingly wants a new challenge.
And Everton could very well offer him that.
While a deal for Tyrique George is said to be near its finalising stages, work in the attack is not stopping there.
Maeda could be one of those options through the door, and it appears he would likely be open to that.
Would Daizen Maeda be open to joining Everton?
It remains to be seen if Everton can be the ones to convince Maeda of a Premier League switch.
The current Celtic star is wanted by Brentford, Nottingham Forest and Fulham as well.
But with Everton's interest in Maeda, they could offer him the chance to live out a career dream of his.
Speaking via Japanense publication FootballZone as relayed by Glasgow Times, Maeda wants to play in the Premier League.
He stated back in May: "My dream has always been to play in the Premier League and challenge myself there one day. At the moment, I’m fully committed to Celtic and giving everything for the team.
"But I still believe there’s another level for me to reach. Ever since I was young, I’ve wanted to see how far I could go in the best league in the world. Even if it was only for a short spell, I’d love the chance to test my pace and ability at that level.”
Now, with Japan out of the World Cup, and the focus on Celtic in the rear view, Everton could finally hand Maeda that dream.
And the Toffees do hold plenty of advantages in that race against their fellow Premier League sides.
How Everton have Maeda advantage
Out of the three teams mentioned alongside Everton, the Toffees are clear front-runners for a various of reasons.
First of all, along side Brentford, they are the most stable club out of the quartet.
Both Fulham and Nottingham Forest are set for a change of manager and it is unclear how they will perform next season.
Additionally, Brentford are already making a move for Burnley's Jaidon Anthony, locking up a spot out on the wing, where Maeda prefers to play.
So, with Everton being a stable top-flight club, and having the chance to offer more minutes, he would be better off living his dream in L3.
