How Jack Grealish's Everton return could hinge on unpopular sale amid 'lucrative' offer

Everton are still hopeful of landing Jack Grealish from Manchester City this summer, but it may come at a cost.

The England international was an instant hit in his season on loan at Hill Dickinson Stadium last time out.

However, Grealish's campaign was ended early by injury in January and he is now back with City.

As previously covered by Goodison News, Enzo Maresca has not exactly ruled out Grealish leaving Man City.

Everton would consider themselves at the front of the queue to sign the 30-year-old if he does indeed leave the Citizens permanently.

However, that may no longer be the case amid a new update that has been shared.

Grealish is into the final year of his Man City contract, so another loan move surely will not be considered.

As per a report from talkSPORT on Tuesday, while Everton are still eager to re-sign Grealish, there is now interest from Saudi Arabia.

And this is where things could get interesting for the Toffees.

Al Hilal are the team credited with an interest in Grealish, with the Saudi Pro League club able to offer "lucrative" wages.

That is the same side that are also interested in signing Iliman Ndiaye from Everton.

Al Hilal would be prepared to spend big for Ndiaye, but the ball is very much in Everton's court.

Could Iliman Ndiaye sale hold key to Grealish transfer?

Everton fans will be furious if Ndiaye is sold, especially if a replacement is not brought in.

However, cashing in may be two-pronged after this latest update.

Ndiaye joining Al Hilal would ensure Grealish is still available, while also giving Everton cash to spend on both the winger and likely someone else.

In an ideal world, Everton will be able to call upon both Grealish and Ndiaye next season.

But an ideal world this is not, and it could be that cashing in on Ndiaye - if a large amount sum is offered - works out for the best in the long term.
