Everton fans wouldn't take long to warm to Keito Nakamura.

The Toffees want to improve their attacking targets next after already addressing their midfield priority with the addition of Hayden Hackney.

Nakamura has emerged as a target for the Blues, as the Japanese star was on fire for French side Reims last season.

The 25-year-old netted 14 times in Ligue 2, grabbing two assists, but he already showed his quality in France's top tier the season before with 11 goals.

Multiple Premier League clubs want to sign the winger, and David Moyes appears to be keen on him, too.

Everton fans may not know much about Nakamura, but his backstory suggests he will be a perfect fit at Hill Dickinson.

Why Keito Nakamura's backstory aligns with Everton values

According to BBC Sport on 2 July, Reims want around £21.5m for Nakamura as Premier League clubs circle his signature, including Everton.

He's recently starred for Japan at this year's World Cup, leaving the competition with a goal and an assist to his name, while the Blues will hope that it hasn't affected his price tag too much.

The left-winger looks ready for the next step in his career after Reims failed to achieve promotion, but change isn't new to him.

Nakamura emerged as a wonderkid from a young age and was in Japan's international youth ranks from the age of 16.

He wasn't an overnight success, though, and had to battle through adversity in different countries to get where he is today.

Nakamura has developed in Japan, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria and France to become the player that he is now, but it's not always been smooth sailing for him.

Instead of taking the easy option and returning to Japan, where he was comfortable, he kept pushing, and now could be rewarded with the opportunity of playing in the Premier League.

Everton fans will respect this, and it's the type of work ethic and mindset that is needed and demanded at Hill Dickinson. But is he better than what Moyes already has?

How Nakamura stacks up vs Jack Grealish

Everton are hoping to resign Jack Grealish this summer, and with the hopes of Tyrique George also returning, there may not be space for Nakamura.

However, the Blues are waiting to see how Grealish recovers from his injury before making another move, as the club may already know who their replacement is.

Nakamura poses a much greater goal-scoring threat than the Manchester City outcast, with 1.64 shots on target per 90 to the latter's 0.44 last season in the league.

However, Grealish has 0.20 more successful dribbles per 90 and creates more chances for his teammates on average.

They are two different winger, but a pair of options Moyes would most likely love to have the choice of playing.
