How Moise Keane could ironically play a part in Beto exit at Everton
The 28-year-old's Everton career has never truly got going since arriving from Udinese three years ago.
Beto's Premier League goals tally has progressively improved across each of his three seasons, but nine goals last time out was not a great return.
He was a late substitute in Saturday's 2-0 win over Crystal Palace, with Thierno Barry instead preferred up top.
Beto is wanted by Serie A side Fiorentina, with that move potentially depending on what happens to former Everton loanee Moise Kean.
It makes for an intriguing seven days amid a fresh update emerging out of Italy.
What has now been reported on Beto exit at Everton?
David Moyes continues to use Beto regularly, whether as a starter or as a substitute.
The Scotsman will know more than anyone, though, that an upgrade is definitely needed up top.
According to Monday's print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport, Fiorentina are continuing to eye Beto, as well as Chelsea pair Liam Delap and Emmanuel Emegha.
It is reported that the Florence club could ramp up their pursuit for one of those players should Kean leave, as is now expected.
Fiorentina's clash with Roma on Monday could well be Kean's last for the side.
A move to fellow Serie A side Como is on the cards, with Fiorentina hoping to raise a sum in the region of £34million.
The great irony, of course, is that Kean previously spent time with Everton between 2019 and 2022.
How is Moise Kean best remembered at Everton?
Kean has the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus on his CV, but it is fair to say he did not make much of an impact on Merseyside.
A record of four goals in 39 matches in all competitions across three seasons is a terrible return.
Kean was once substituted off after just 19 minutes against Manchester United.
Duncan Ferguson was interim manager at the time and admitted Kean simply was not up to it.
He did go on to describe the Italian as a "special" talent, but that is not something Everton fans got to see.
Kean is clearly impressing back in Serie A, however, and his expected move to Como could now put the wheels in motion for Beto to move on.
