Tyler Dibling's career has stagnated at Everton and it may well be he gets a chance to kickstart it elsewhere.

The England Under-21s international made just four Premier League starts for Everton last season.

That was on the back of much fanfare 12 months ago when joining from Southampton for a reported fee of £35million, plus £5m in add-ons.

It is fair to say those add-ons do not appear close to being hit at this stage given his lack of a chance to impress at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Goodison News has already previously covered speculation Dibling could be on his way out of Everton.

And it may well be that an approach is made sooner rather than later amid developments elsewhere.

Tyler Dibling could be signed with Yan Diomande funds

Dibling is using pre-season as a chance to win over David Moyes, but it is hard to see the Scotsman changing his stance too much.

The Friedkin Group will no doubt be unhappy that a player costing so much has played so little.

Now, Thursday's print edition of Bild names Dibling as one of the targets on RB Leipzig's shortlist to replace Yan Diomande.

Diomande is wanted by Real Madrid in a blockbuster deal that would be worth over £100m.

It would be a club-record fee for one of the world's biggest clubs and would arguably be the biggest transfer in Europe this summer.

Leipzig are targeting multiple wide players, it is claimed, with Dibling named alongside Francisco Conceicao, Malick Fofana, Paul Nebel and Said El Mala.

David Moyes needs to be honest over what's next for Dibling

If Dibling is going to be used as a bit-part player this coming season, Everton are better off cashing in.

That may sound brutal, but that is £35m - if the fee can be recouped - that can be used on a regular starter.

It is all well and good bringing in up-and-comers, but Everton need players for the here and now.

Dibling was once described by youth coach Graeme Murty as a player with "X-Factor".

It was said how he goes against the norm of a normal modern-day footballer; instead he is less robotic and gets fans excited.

Well that is what Everton fans want to see - and now.

If not, any bid from Leipzig will have to be seriously considered this summer.
