Jonathan Nsangou contract examined after Everton heroics vs Blackburn
Jonathan Nsangou has continued to make waves at Everton.
The 16-year-old has already attracted significant hype after his exploits in the Under-18's.
He has 10 goals and four assists in 27 matches at that level, garnering a lot of interest in his future.
Nsangou made headlines in the Blues' friendly against Blackburn, in which David Moyes' side secured a 3-3 draw.
The youngster struck with a late effort to rescue the result, after being played in by Jack Grealish.
Goodison News looks at his contract situation amid his heroics against the Championship side.
What is Jonathan Nsangou's contract situation at Everton?
Nsangou was announced as one of Everton's Under-18 scholars in July.
His contract is set to run until the summer of 2028 as it is a two-year agreement.
Once he turns 17, the Blues will likely then start putting together his first professional deal to keep him on their books.
That will be in January 2027, and if he signs that, it would be a maximum three-year contract under FIFA's rules governing under-18 players.
Who is Everton's latest shining talent Nsangou?
Nsangou is primarily a right winger, and has Polish, Cameroonian and English heritage.
He represented Poland at Under-15 level, but has played five times for England Under-16's.
While he has plenty of experience in the Under-18's, he also made his under-21's debut in the 3-2 loss against Aston Villa's academy side in September 2025.
Nsangou has gone on to make two further appearances in the upper age group under Dave Hughes.
What are the next stages for Nsangou?
The next steps for Nsangou are to play more for the Under-21's and start to contribute at that level.
Then when he turns 18, the Toffees can loan him out to other clubs in England, preferably in the Football League.
That way he can earn senior experience away from L3, which will only enhance his development.
It will likely be a few years before we seen him in David Moyes' senior side, as the Scottish boss has not exactly shown a trust in his academy talents.
Nsangou needs to keep impressing at youth level, then when he gets a chance in senior football, to the point where the manager can no longer ignore him.
