Everton may be ready to pounce on Chelsea striker Liam Delap in the ongoing transfer window.

The Toffees are yet to make any official signing this summer as they continue to work on multiple deals to reinforce David Moyes' squad.

In the 2025-26 campaign, Beto and Thierno Barry were the Scottish manager's two options in the number nine position, but neither of them was able to cement their place in the starting lineup.

Delap has been heavily linked with a move to Hill Dickinson Stadium for a couple of years now, and with Chelsea looking to offload multiple players, the door could open again.

The former Ipswich Town star opted for a move to Stamford Bridge over the Merseyside outfit, but has failed to live up to expectations in London.

After starting 12 Premier League games and scoring one goal last season, uncertainty remains around the striker's future in SW6.

Details emerge of Tyrique George deal at Everton

Chelsea have renegotiated terms with the Toffees to sell Tyrique George this summer after his loan spell in L3.

The Blues had an option to buy the winger for £25million, but instead of an upfront fee, an agreement has been reached for a deal that will include add-ons.

According to BBC Sport on 30 June, the Stamford Bridge hierarchy are looking to reduce the size of Xabi Alonso's squad after the London club finished 10th in the Premier League.

That could potentially leave the door open for someone like Delap to be available and follow George to Hill Dickinson Stadium in the coming weeks.

Apart from George, Everton are also working on signing Hayden Hackney from Middlesbrough in a deal worth £16m plus add-ons.

Moyes' admiration for Delap is well known, and it wouldn't be surprising to see The Friedkin Group hold talks with Chelsea to find some sort of solution soon.

Merlin Rohl's loan move from Freiburg has also been made permanent this summer, with the £21m buy option being triggered after the Toffees ensured their Premier League safety in April.

It's really starting to heat up now.
