New twist for Iliman Ndiaye's Everton exit after fresh talks the day before deadline day

Iliman Ndiaye's transfer from Everton to Manchester City is still in the works.

The Toffees are looking to sell the Senegal international for £60million, with Jack Grealish increasingly likely to head the other way.

It's said that the Blues are hoping to strike a loan agreement with Man City, and are willing to pay 90 per cent of the former England international's wages.

In the middle of all of this, David Moyes' side are also hoping to convince Richarlison to come back to the club from Tottenham Hotspur.

However, Ndiaye's departure is perhaps the most talked-about transfer, especially after the latest update.

Man City make new contact with Iliman Ndiaye in fresh twist

It had been reported that Everton had agreed to sell Ndiaye to Tottenham, with Richarlison set to go in the opposite direction.

Man City appear to have nipped in ahead of the Lilywhites for the winger, but this does not effect Everton's pursuit of Richarlison.

But for Enzo Maresca's side, a move for Ndiaye may depend on another deal for them.

As reported by prominent journalist Fabrizio Romano, Man City have made new contact with Ndiaye's agents on Monday, with a move for Liverpool's Cody Gakpo currently in danger.

Liverpool are still open to selling Gakpo to their Premier League rivals, but only if they can find a replacement.

Ndiaye's proposed move to Tottenham is not done either, and doubts remain about Richarlison's return to Everton.

The Toffees may be currently scratching their heads, especially after the latest movement at Anfield.

Liverpool have announced the signing of Bradley Barcola on Monday, arriving in a mega deal from PSG.

The French interational plays in Gakpo's peferred position of left wing, and may be seen as the latter's replacement.

That said, this could green light Man City's move for Gakpo, which will most likely see them drop out of the race for Ndiaye.

This will then leave the Everton star with one clear destination in Tottenham, but clarity has yet to emerge on where he prefers to go.
