Tyler Dibling loan exit mooted at Everton as best destination named

Jeff Stelling and Gabby Agbonlahor believe Everton would be wise to loan out Tyler Dibling in the January transfer window.

Dibling was an unused substitute for the Toffees in Sunday's dramatic 2-2 draw against Manchester United.

The 20-year-old has yet to be given any top-flight minutes by David Moyes across Everton's first three games this season.

Moyes has never truly fancied Dibling since the youngster's £35million move from Southampton last year.

He started just four Premier League games in 2025-26, while making a further 10 appearances from the bench.

And a loan exit has now been mooted for the winger ahead of the winter window.

Dibling will no doubt be frustrated by the lack of trust being shown in him by Moyes.

The England Under-21s international looked superb at Southampton, explaining why Everton paid such a large fee to sign him.

After not being given the chance to showcase his talents properly at Hill Dickinson Stadium, a loan exit has been touted.

Speaking on talkSPORT on Monday morning, Agbonlahor said: "He's wasting away, isn't he?

"He might need to find a loan in January. Would you say a Championship loan or something in January if Everton can find a replacement? Just go and play."

Stelling replied: "Yeah. He needs to play games because he's played precious little hasn't he since he moved from Southampton."

The pair believe a Championship loan may be for the best, and it is hard to disagree given how little Moyes trusts him.

Would Southampton return make sense for Dibling?

Everton only have 18 squad members, so the thought of loaning out any of those may sound surprising.

But if Dibling continues to be underutilised, and a few players are recruited in January, it may make sense to sanction a temporary exit.

Returning to Southampton, who are still in the Championship, would allow Dibling to rebuild some confidence at a club he knows well.

Everton fans have not seen anything close to the best from the youngster, but hopefully there is time for that to change before too long.
