Arthur Barratt is set to move to Everton from Chelsea's youth academy.

The Friedkin Group have made a real effort to improve the Toffees' youth standing since completing their takeover.

They have hired Dean Rastrick as Academy Director and appointed Neil Dewsnip, who worked with Wayne Rooney and Leon Osman as a consultant.

There is a concerted effort from Everton to bolster their youth sides, and make a pathway into David Moyes' side.

Now, they are picking up some of the best talents around, in order to give them the best possible chance of finding a gem who can contribute.

That looks set to continue with their capture of Barratt from the Stamford Bridge club.

How Arthur Barratt deal fits in with Everton's transfer pattern

Everton have agreed a deal to bring Barratt to Finch Farm, on a permanent deal.

A report from Fabrizio Romano on Tuesday claimed that the Toffees have reached an agreement over a fee for the 16-year-old.

He stated that there was interest from other Premier League clubs, but the Blues seen him as an "important investment".

It is a sign that the Friedkins are dead serious about their plans for the youth side of the game.

Their transfer business for the senior side follows a similar pattern, signing young players who will hopefully come up trumps in the near future.

Thierno Barry, Tyler Dibling, Charly Alcaraz, Adam Aznou and Merlin Rohl are all examples of that approach.

At youth level, they have already agreed a deal to sign Kai Hutchison from Dundee United, so they are clearly trying to build something for the future.

Everton: Questions must be asked of Friedkin Group as transfer strategy comes under fire

What can Everton fans expect from Barratt?

He signed for CMG Sports agency group last year to coincide with his rise up Chelsea' youth ranks.

A press release from that organisation describe him as a "creative and elegant playmaker."

Barratt will likely be placed in Keith Southern's Under-18 side when he arrives on Merseyside.

Given his age, there is very little data available about his goalscoring or assist record, so it is unknown what supporters can expect.

It will likely take a few years for supporters to see what he can do, and to see if he can progress into the senior ranks.
