Are Crystal Palace eyeing a move for Jake O'Brien this window?
Crystal Palace were hoping to land a deal for O'Brien from Everton.
However, it appears they have now stepped away from talks after a disagreement with Everton.
According to journalist Sam Tabuteau, who works for The Standard, the Eagles have taken the stance that Everton's demands are too high.
Now, the Premier League side are not engaging in talks, with O'Brien "set to remain" in L3 following the transfer deadline.
For Crystal Palace manager, Pierre Sage, that is likely to be a significant blow. The Eagles boss is said to be "a big admirer" of the Irishman having managed him for a year at Olympique Lyon.
Other clubs were interested in the Irish international, but seemingly nothing concrete has emerged for Everton to ponder over.
Will O'Brien have to play right-back for Everton next season?
It does feel slightly negligent that Everton have taken it all the way to the transfer deadline without signing a right-back.

But, Everton have agreed a deal for Ainsely Maitland-Niles, who has been converted from a midfielder into a right-back over the years.
