What Everton are now pushing for to get Folarin Balogun deal done in time

Everton's pursuit of Monaco forward Folarin Balogun is set to go right down to the wire.

Everton's interest in the United States international is certainly nothing new heading into Tuesday's deadline day.

The Toffees entered talks for Balogun over the weekend and are reported to have even submitted an offer.

However, it has since emerged that Monaco value Balogun at around £40million, which is considerably more than Everton offered.

A new update has now emerged as the sides continue talks over a possible deal.

What's Everton's stance on £40m Folarin Balogun valuation?

Balogun and Richarlison appear the most likely late arrivals at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Everton have agreed a £15m fee for Richarlison, potentially rising to £25m with various add-ons.

As for Balogun, that deal is also still very much in the balance with time ticking down.

As per an update from respected Everton fan account 'The Bobble' via X on Monday evening, Everton are pushing to negotiate a lower fee than £40m.

It means talks will likely continue into deadline day, before hopefully reaching a positive conclusion as far as Everton are concerned.

Is Balogun worth paying £40m for?

Everton clearly feel not, and that is ultimately all that matters.

Balogun is very similar to Beto in terms of their output last season, with the pair sharing an identical goals per game return in their respective leagues.

The American - hailed as "insane" by Christian Pulisic during the World Cup - does have a better assists return, however, and is the better player overall when analysing the figures.

But when considering Beto is going to Fiorentina for around £15m, Balogun is certainly not worth £25m more than that.
