What Everton must now do to ease David Moyes tension amid transfer latest

David Moyes is growing increasingly impatient with the latest goings on at Everton.

The Toffees have had a seriously mixed summer to this point.

After finishing the season in such frustrating fashion, new faces were certainly necessary.

Hayden Hackney, Christian Norgaard and Brennan Johnson have come in to add to the conversation.

As positive as that may be, fans are calling out for further defensive options ready for the upcoming campaign.

That feeling is being echoed in the Everton boardroom as a new addition could be incoming.

Why is David Moyes growing inpatient at Everton?

With the way that the last campaign crumbled, frustration was everywhere at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

At one point, European qualification felt like the most likely end goal for the Blues.

That didn't happen and they ultimately succumbed to a 13th place finish.

Many hoped that would spark a busy summer window where elements of the squad were overhauled.

That hasn't been the case and signings have been few and far between.

A report from the i Paper on Tuesday has now suggested that tensions have emerged between Moyes and the hierarchy over transfer business.

That hasn't been helped by him entering the final year of his contract while being linked to the vacant Scotland job.

The Scot seemingly needs any new signings to start well if he is to stick around, so the next step is obvious.

Everton hierarchy need to accelerate defender signing

There have been plenty of complaints in recent months and years about the full-back area on Merseyside.

That has only taken a step up with Merlin Rohl being forced to play there, despite being known as an attack-minded midfielder.

He followed Jake O'Brien in that role, who also featured out-of-position to do so.

That is why a new right-back is wanted and it seems Moyes has echoed that this summer.

He is yet to get a hold of one, but should the Everton hierarchy want to end these tensions, they need to do so immediately.

It appears that they are ready to do exactly that after the above i Paper report suggested that a new signing is wanted before facing Crystal Palace on 22 August.

The outlet reports that the "feeling inside the club that they would be in decent shape heading into the new campaign".

It would be interesting to know how Moyes feels about that and whether he agrees with that verdict.

That would be the ideal way to cancel out any tension on Merseyside, that just isn't needed right now.
