Richarlison may be regretting his failed return to Everton from Tottenham Hotspur.

There was plenty of uproar when the Brazilian looked set to come through the door on Merseyside.

That wasn't solely due to the forward, but due to the fact that Iliman Ndiaye was set to go the other direction.

A move for the money that was reportedly going to be involved just didn't seem to make sense for David Moyes' side.

It obviously fell through in the end and the 29-year-old remained at Spurs.

Richarlison clearly thought he'd be on the move and is surely now thinking what could have been at Everton.

What has Richarlison said at Tottenham?

The Lilywhites' number nine hasn't done himself any favours this summer.

He has spoken out on his position and his desire to move away from North London.

That didn't go down well with Roberto De Zerbi as he voiced his frustration to the media.

Richarlison hasn't stopped and has now spoken directly to Vasco da Gama fans after a move to his homeland didn't work out.

In an Instagram video lasting over two minutes, he said a lot about the collapsed deal.

"This week has been pretty hectic. We came very close to me signing for Vasco, my boyhood club, my family’s boyhood club. It was very close.

"I wanted to play for Vasco until December. Other clubs came in, other offers came in, but I made it very clear to Pedrinho and Felipe that they were my priority until December.

"Unfortunately, Tottenham also had a loan limit, and that’s why it didn’t work out either."

The attacker came across quite disappointed in the video, which may be have him thinking of what could have happened if he joined Everton earlier in the summer.

Why Richarlison has rejected Everton transfer despite Tottenham agreement

Could Richarlison still join Everton?

With the current state of the Toffees front line, they may still look to welcome the Brazilian back.

He certainly doesn't have the best reputation at Tottenham right now and they'll likely be trying to ship him out as soon as possible.

That could serve as an opportunity for Everton to sign the 1997-born forward in January.

His contract expires at the end of the season, so a cut-price deal would be available in the winter.

The final decision would ultimately come down to Richarlison and where he sees his future.

He has made it clear that he wants to play for Vasco da Gama, but would he turn down a Premier League lifeline in L3?
