David Moyes clearly does not believe the left-sided defender is ready to feature regularly for the Toffees, as he is still yet to make his Premier League debut one year since arriving.
A loan move away may be best for all parties and that seems to be inching towards a conclusion in the final days of the window.

What terms have Malaga agreed to with Adam Aznou loan?
Everton fans will be eager to hear the details of Aznou's possible move to Malaga this summer.
Now, outlet Africa Foot have obtained information over what they state is an "agreement in principle" with Everton and Malaga.
According to the report, Aznou's loan is just a straight deal with no option or obligation to buy at the end of the season.
Additionally, the south coast Spanish side have agreed to pay the full wages of the Moroccan during his loan.
On that basis, it has to be said this is a good deal for the Toffees - and of course the player himself.
It is said that the final details are currently being worked on with this potential move now " very close to being finalised".
And this is a move that should see Aznou get much-needed game time at a senior level.
Are Everton leaving themselves light in defence?
Everton's right-back woes are well known, but selling Aznou leaves them with just one left-back as well.
However, Melvin Bard has emerged as a possible signing for Everton, and that could ramp up once Aznou departs.
Hopefully it turns out to be a busy end to the transfer window, which has so far been quite poor from the Toffees in general.
