Jack Grealish knew all along where he wanted to be this summer: Everton.

Amongst the frustration and despair of a disappointing deadline day, Evertonians will be thrilled to see Grealish back.

The 30-year-old winger has returned to Hill Dickinson Stadium on a season-long loan deal from Man City.

He made 22 appearances for the Toffees whilst on loan last season, scoring twice and providing six assists.

And now, Toffees supporters have learnt just how much of a financial contribution Everton have made in order to bring him back.

What role did David Moyes play in Jack Grealish's Everton return?

It may not have been the ending to the summer window many Toffees fans wanted, but Grealish is a sizeable silver lining.

Revealing on talkSPORT late on Tuesday evening, Ben Jacobs and Alex Crook explained why David Moyes made all the difference in this transfer tale.

"As Alex (Crook) reported a few days ago, Grealish only wanted Everton," Jacobs said.

"There was obviously potential for Villa, some reports of Sunderland as well, but your clear understanding was that there was only one club Grealish was going to leave Man City for."

"I think the big factor in that is David Moyes," Crook then stated.

"I'm told by sources close to Jack Grealish he absolutely loved playing under David Moyes."

That wasn't the end of the discussion around Grealish either, as Jim White also weighed in on his return to Merseyside.

Why Jim White is over the moon to see Grealish back at Everton

Certain players just fit at certain clubs, and Grealish and Everton has felt like a match made in heaven since day one.

The 39-cap England international just gets the community feel around the club, and has been a huge hit with supporters as a result.

Speaking in the same aforementioned talkSPORT segment, White didn't hide his happiness to see Grealish back with the Toffees either.

"Brilliant. I'm delighted actually for Jack Grealish," White said in response to Jacobs reading out a social media message from the winger detailing his excitement over the transfer.

"We want to see him play, don't we? We want to see Jack Grealish doing what he does best.

"Taking on players, and enjoying his football. Get out there and play. Get back to enjoying your football again."

Let's hope he can be catalyst of happiness on Merseyside, especially after such a disappointing end to the window.
