Everton ready eleventh-hour move to sign Brownhill amid Burnley exit news
Everton could consider a late transfer swoop for Burnley midfielder Josh Brownhill, according to Alex Crook.
The talkSPORT correspondent reported on 2 February that the 29-year-old is “one to keep an eye on” with just 36 hours remaining in the winter window.
The Toffees have shown an interest in the Englishman who is out of contract in the summer but could face competition from Brentford and Wolves to land his signature.
There is also pre-contract interest coming from sides in Italy, France and Turkyie which could impact the chances of a deal before the 3 February deadline.
Everton ready bid for Josh Brownhill at Burnley
David Moyes will be keen on adding new players to his squad at Goodison but is facing a race against the clock.
There is less than two days remaining in the winter window which could have a negative impact on the progress of any potential deals.
Regardless of this, the Toffees could still make a swoop to sign Brownhill from Burnley on a cheap deal given his current contract situation.
The Clarets may be keen to cash in on the midfielder as this will be their final chance to do so before losing him for free in the summer.
This could see the Evertonians make a late swoop for a lesser fee than the Englishman may be worth to grab themselves a winter bargain.
It will be interesting to see what Scott Parker’s stance is on this potential transfer given his number eight has started 27 games this season, scoring nine and assisting four.
That output would be well appreciated in Moyes’ side and as a result, a transfer could be pushed by the Scot in the latter stages of the window.
