Everton are set for another tough test as Chelsea come to town on Saturday in the Premier League.

David Moyes is looking for a response from his Toffees, after a 2-2 draw at Hull City last time out.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Thierno Barry both scored at the MKM Stadium, but two defensive lapses saw points dropped.

Chelsea, on the other hand, come to Merseyside off the back of a huge 5-1 win against Bournemouth.

With Xabi Alonso's electric attack, defence will be tested at Hill Dickinson Stadium on 17 October.

Goodison News has predicted the starting XI, with a couple of changes surely in the works.

Everton defence set for biggest test yet

Only Brighton and Man City have a better goal record than Chelsea so far this season.

Having said that, Everton have the joint-best defence, and Jordan Pickford is a big part of that from the back.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles didn't have the best afternoon at Hull defensively, but did pick up an assist and should start again on the right, with no other options.

James Tarkowski will captain the side, while Jarrad Branthwaite could move back central after deputising on the left-hand side.

With Vitaliy Mykolenko expected to be fit, he should start, meaning Michael Keane could drop back to the bench.

Three Everton questions to emerge from the past week include Friedkin Group uncertainty

Can Everton beat Chelsea physically?

Alonso is known for his quick attacking style of play, often blitzing the opposition in separate periods.

So, it's key that Harrison Armstrong and James Garner disrupt as much as possible when they can, as they continue their partnership.

Ahead of them should be Dewsbury-Hall, who is among the first names on the teamsheet under Moyes.

Jack Grealish is another one of those, as the Man City loanee continues to build back up to 100 per cent after his long-term injury last season.

There have been slow positive signs from the winger, and he'll be looking to continue proving himself against one of the best.

Chelsea revenge could be very sweet

Tyrique George never really got a chance at Chelsea, and Moyes could have him as a secret weapon here, described as "exceptional" by Mark Schwarzer.

The Blues and Alonso will know very little of him in a senior sense, after selling him permanently to Everton over the summer.

Now, he should get the chance to build on that wonderstrike against Man United earlier in the season, replacing Brennan Johsnon.

The Wales international will be frustrated, having been involved in two disallowed goals for offsides already this season.

Finishing the line up, it should be Barry, after another goal and several missed chances, he's the only striker they've got.
