Everton icon Leon Osman believes David Moyes could carry some post-Chelsea regret.

The Toffees lost their unbeaten Premier League record to start the season at the hands of Xabi Alonso's side last Saturday.

Getting back on the winning trail won't be easy for Moyes' men this weekend either, as they travel to Arsenal on Saturday afternoon.

As such, Everton could very easily end this week three games without victory in the league, which would see their promising start stall.

Moyes has been called into question for some of his selection calls and in-game personnel decisions already this term.

Following on from the defeat to Chelsea, Osman has joined those questioning whether the 63-year-old could've done better in that respect.

Which Everton player has Leon Osman been 'calling for' to get more minutes?

Moyes made just three substitutions in the 2-0 defeat to Chelsea, and the timing of them especially did raise eyebrows.

Tyrique George was introduced on 55 minutes for Ainsley Maitland-Niles, but it wasn't until the 85th minute until the other two were introduced.

Christian Norgaard and Brennan Johnson replaced Harrison Armstrong and Jack Grealish for the final five minutes, offering little chance for either to make an impact.

Speaking on the Outside the Box podcast via Instagram alongside Tony Bellew and Liam Kiziltan, Osman thinks Moyes will want these decisions back.

"I wonder if David Moyes had another look at his substitutions, whether he'd make the same ones," the 433 Everton appearance-maker said.

"I've been calling out for Hayden Hackney to be getting a lot more game time, and he was actually unused.

"(Christian) Norgaard came on and looked like he hadn't played for a year, which is inevitable because he hasn't played for a year."

So, just how poor have Moyes' substitutions been this season, and who is the only player to score from the Toffees' bench?

Moyes' Chelsea substitution errors weren't his first this season

Fans would much rather see their side lose a game having really given it a go, and having not died wondering regarding subsitutions.

Moyes can't say he did that against Chelsea, leaving Hackney, Charly Alcaraz, Braiden Graham and Tyler Dibling all unused in this one.

Against Hull, four of his five changes came in the 78th minute onwards, with this time Merlin Rohl, Norgaard and Graham unused.

For the 0-0 draw away at Tottenham, Moyes again made just three subs, two of which (Hackney and Jake O'Brien) only coming on with 15 minutes to go.

In fact, there has only been one time in the Premier League this season where one of Moyes' subs has come and scored.

This was when Maitland-Niles came on after 77 minutes against Manchester United, and scored the equalising goal in the sixth minute of added time.

If this keeps happening and points are left on the pitch with potential game-changers left cold, frustration from supporters will only continue to grow.
