Everton will be keen to accelerate ther transfer plans in the next week or so.

The Toffees have added Hayden Hackney to their midfield ranks, with a deal that could eventually reach £25million agreed with Middlesbrough.

Full deals have also been struck to keep Merlin Rohl and Tyrique George at Hill Dickinson Stadium next season.

But there are still improvements to be made across the board, as Everton look to improve on last season's 13th-place finish.

Indeed, you sense that a push for European football will be expected next term to keep Everton on an upward trajectory.

To do that, players will have to leave as well as arrive, and Everton have one obvious to decision to make in terms of player exits now.

Dwight McNeil on Everton chopping board amid transfer update

It is no secret that Moyes is looking for reinforcements across the board ahead of next season.

One area that goes need attention is the wide areas, especially with uncertainty over any return for Jack Grealish and Iliman Ndiaye's future in some doubt.

George returning has helped in that regard, but Everton have also been linked to Newcastle United winger Jacob Murphy.

Murphy is a player who has earned Champions League experience at St James' Park in recent seasons, and would add quality and experience to the forward line.

It does, though, mean that there is an obvious opportunity to move on fringe player Dwight McNeil.

McNeil is once more being linked with a move to West Ham United, having been touted to move there in the January transfer window.

It has not happened for McNeil consistently in an Everton shirt, and if the Toffees push ahead to sign Murphy, it would push him further down the pecking order.

In truth, it feels an easy conclusion for all parties to reach, and one that should be considered.

Who else are Everton tracking this summer?

Everton are in the hunt for additions in several areas of the pitch.

Predominantly, Bayer Leverkusen forward Christian Kofane is thought to be on the Toffees' radar as they seek more firepower.

A new right-back feels like an absolute must, and the likes of Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Djed Spence have been linked with a move.

More midfield cover might also be on the radar with Idrissa Gana Gueye yet to commit to another year, and Tim Iroegbunam perhaps available for transfer.

Pape Gueye, Mandela Keita, and Shea Charles are all names who have been suggested as names on Everton's shortlist.
