Dwight McNeil could leave Everton to join West Ham this summer.

The winger struggled for game time under David Moyes, making 22 appearances in the Premier League last time out.

He was set for a move to Crystal Palace in the winter transfer window before the plug was pulled at the last minute.

McNeil remained but there are question marks over his long-term future at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

The Hammers are understood to hold an interest in the former Burnley man, and could make their move shortly.

Nuno Espirito Santo's side are in the market for attackers, and the Blues man fits the bill.

What is the latest on Dwight McNeil's potential Everton exit?

McNeil may have a new escape route from the Merseyside club, as a Championship side eyes his services.

A report from ExWHUEmployee, via the West Ham Way on Thursday claims that McNeil is a "key target" for the Irons.

It states that a loan move could be discussed as a workaround, rather than a permanent Toffees exit.

He said: "Dwight McNeil is a key target that could be a loan move too.”

That would likely suit all parties, with Moyes' side getting his wages off the books, the player getting playing time, and the East London side getting someone who can make an impact.

It remains to be seen whether an agreement can be reached between the clubs.

Who could Everton look to as a replacement?

The Blues are hoping to bring Jack Grealish back after his loan deal, but there has no been no progress on a fee with Manchester City.

They also want to bring Tyrique George back, but want to renegotiate the terms of that deal.

Tyler Dibling is another winger in the squad, but Moyes does not trust him at the moment.

Iliman Ndiaye's future is uncertain, but the L3 outfit hold all the cards when it comes to his future, as he is contracted until 2029.

Charly Alcaraz can also operate on the flanks, although he is primarily an attacking midfielder.

If Moyes' side complete the aforementioned deals and keep their contracted wingers, there is no reason why McNeil would not be allowed to leave.

A departure is the best move for all sides involved, it is as simple as that, as it has just not worked out.
