David Moyes pushes to rubberstamp £60m Everton double signing, it includes Jack Grealish

Everton could be about to take their summer transfer business to the next level as David Moyes pushes for a double deal involving Manchester City.

The Toffees have so far signed Hayden Hackney, as well as Tyrique George, and Merlin Rohl following their spells on loan, for a combined £51.5million.

Jack Grealish has long been touted as a top-priority target for Moyes, albeit speculation has gone quiet in recent weeks.

Goodison News recently reported how Grealish had been using Everton's training facilities prior to pre-season beginning.

And Moyes is now eager to get the England international back through the doors at Finch Farm for good.

If the Scotsman gets his way, that could be part of a big-money double deal.

Everton hone in on Seamus Coleman replacement

Bringing Grealish back would tick a massive box for Everton in terms of what fans had been hoping for transfer wise this summer.

Arguably even higher on that list was signing a new right-back, with Jake O'Brien being overused out of position last time out.

Club legend Seamus Coleman's exit further ramped up the need for a replacement in that area.

According to 'The Real Tolmie's Hairdoo' via X, a respected account run by former journalist Scott Loney, Moyes is eager to get a deal done for Rico Lewis.

It is reported that Moyes wants to rubberstamp a £60m double deal for Grealish and Lewis in what would be a coup for the Toffees if they pull it off.

The account is followed by more than 19,000 people, including Fabrizio Romano and Mark Douglas.

If the deal is indeed pulled off, it would leave Everton in a far stronger position than this time 12 months ago.

How does Everton's transfer business compare 12 months on?

By this exact date a year ago, Everton had signed Mark Travers, Thierno Barry and Charly Alcaraz - the latter having initially joined on loan - for a combined £43m.

Hackney is a superb signing for Everton this summer, but he is the only true new face in through the door so far.

Supporters are right to want more business done, and getting a right-back in would certainly change the picture completely.

While Grealish was also on loan at Everton last season, he did not feature from January and would therefore feel fresh.

If The Friedkin Group can somehow bring in those two players for £60m, that would instantly leave Everton in a far stronger position for the new season.
