Everton could swoop to sign their own version of Fabinho this summer.

The Toffees will remember the defensive midfielder from his days on the red side of Merseyside.

He was a regular for Liverpool and starred as he won basically everything that he could have at Anfield.

With a Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup, Super Cup and Club World Cup under his belt, it's safe to say he did well in L4.

Things have followed suit after his move to Al Ittihad in Saudi Arabia as he already has a Saudi Pro League title to his name.

Everton are on the lookout for a defensive midfielder and could move for a similar player this summer.

There is a desire for further midfield reinforcements on Merseyside this summer.

That has seen David Moyes already move to bring in Hayden Hackney from Middlesbrough.

Plenty of links of continued to swirl around the Blues, especially with Goodison News previously reporting the end of Idrissa Gueye's contract.

It appears that former Everton man Don Hutchinson could have the perfect option for the Toffees this summer.

He took to X on Tuesday to alert the L3 outfit to Atalanta star Ederson after his failed move to Manchester United.

Hutchinson said: "Liverpool, Newcastle, Everton. Wake up sleepy heads. For the amount of money, it's a bargain. Defo gives me Fabinho vibes."

The Brazil international could certainly prove to be a coup and may be available after Man United's efforts to sign him failed.

How much could Everton pay for Ederson?

The 27-year-old has certainly caught the eye after four years featuring in Serie A.

His performances at the base of midfield could only help his side to a seventh place finish, but he could find himself on the move regardless.

That did look likely to be in a switch to Old Trafford, but Fabrizio Romano reported on Tuesday that a deal is off.

A move for the Brazilian is not expected to be revisited this summer after talks fell through.

The Red Devils had previously agreed a £35million move for Ederson, a fee which could represent a bargain if Everton make a move.

They are in need of a new defensive midfielder and may not get better than the Atalanta man this summer.

If Hutchinson gets his way, Moyes could land himself a real coup.
