Everton want to seal Nestory Irankunda signing as transfer stalls

Everton have somewhat frozen in the transfer market as they look to continue building their squad.

The Toffees started quickly, securing the permanent signings of Merlin Rohl and Tyrique George, as well as bringing in Hayden Hackney.

But, David Moyes wants more at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Despite the clamour for more reinforcements at full-back, Everton are looking to bolster the final third again.

That's where Nestory Irankunda comes in, with the young Australian star continuing to make a name for himself.

That is a huge Jack Grealish-shaped hole, and nobody knows if he will be returning from Manchester City after his loan and injury.

Now, Everton have set their sights on Irankunda.

Record has reported in its print edition on Wednesday that the Toffees have joined the race for the tricky winger.

The Portuguese newspaper state that new clubs are gaining interest every day as Sporting CP attempt to get a deal finalised.

It's said that the Lisbon giants have bid up to £17million, but even if negotiations start well, it won't get finished this week.

That gives Everton a window to step in, with the winger known for the spectacular in the Championship with several special free-kicks.

Moyes has to be less stubborn next season, and use both George and Dibling more, especially if he wants them to improve and make a difference.

That is also something that Irankunda and other targets may look at when picking their next club, given that Dibling hardly featured at all after signing last summer.

With Sporting not close to signing Irankunda right now despite their offer, it will be interesting to see if Everton make their move.
