Everton have had Djed Spence on their radar as they look to finally find a solution at right-back.

The Toffees have had real issues in the right-back position for some time now and it's an area that badly needs addressing this summer.

Long-term servant Seamus Coleman has now departed Hill Dickinson Stadium, and Nathan Patterson faces an uncertain future.

Patterson is likely to be sold if a buyer can be found, and he has often been overlooked in the past by centre-backs playing out of position such as Ben Godfrey and more recently Jake O'Brien.

Several right-backs have been linked with a move to Everton during the window, with Spence among those.

David Moyes may now already have his answer on a transfer for the Tottenham full-back after an update from Fabrizio Romano.

Talks held for Djed Spence Tottenham exit

Goodison News has previously covered reports that Everton were willing to pay around £25million to sign Spence.

Right now, that feels like it would represent decent value for a player who has been impressing for England at the World Cup.

Spence played important roles off the bench against Mexico and Norway, and has started two games for the Three Lions, who play in the semi-finals against Argentina on Wednesday.

However, Spence is catching the eye of several suitors, and prominent transfer journalist Romano provided an update that could be bad news for Moyes and Everton.

Romano wrote on his official X account that Inter remain in talks with Spurs over a deal for Spence, and moreover the 25-year-old is open to moving to San Siro.

The glimmer of hope for Everton is that Romano says Spurs' valuation is higher than what Inter expect to pay.

But it does seem that Moyes might already have his answer from Spence, and it might be prudent to explore other options to fill the troublesome right-back berth.

Which other right-backs are Everton looking at?

There is seemingly a very lengthy list of full-backs Everton are tracking to find a solution that has long-since been a problem.

Genoa's English right-back Brooke Norton-Cuffy has regularly been linked to Everton, and he is reportedly back on their radar this summer.

West Ham United's Aaron Wan-Bissaka is said to be a target, and the Hammers' relegation from the Premier League could make a deal possible.

Strasbourg's Guela Doue has also been linked, though their price tag might make a deal difficult to happen.
