How much Everton can sign Hector Fort for as David Moyes holds out for permanent transfer

Everton are still working on their right-back issues with Barcelona's Hector Fort among the solutions.

The season is not too far away from kicking off, and David Moyes will want to have a player through the doors before then.

Multiple options have been sounded out but the consistent blocker has typically been the price.

However, Spaniard Fort could prove to be a much cheaper option, with Everton interested in signing him.

What is Barcelona's stance on Hector Fort amid Everton interest?

Previous reports have shared that Barcelona are quite open to Fort leaving the Nou Camp this transfer window.

That exit could come in the form of a permanent sale or even a loan exit.

Everton are interested in a permanent deal for Fort, and suggestions out of Spain have detailed how much that could cost the Merseyside club.

Spanish outlet SPORT has shared that Barcelona are expected to earn around £8.55million for the transfer of the 20-year-old.

They are said to be engaged in an aggressive policy with their unwanted academy players that would bring in a maximised financial return.

The Blues are not alone in their pursuit, though, with SPORT sharing that Fulham's emergence is a "surprise" in the race for Fort, who does already have a La Liga title to his name from the 2024-2025 season.

What would Fort bring to Everton?

On the surface, Fort seems to be the perfect blend of fullback for Moyes' side.

The Spaniard is six-foot-one, and through the Scotsman's use of Jake O'Brien at right-back, he does seemingly like to have some physicality out there.

However, Fort would also be an excellent attacking option for the Toffees.

According to Barcelona's website, some of Fort's defining qualities other than his defensive work is his ability to use his pace down the wing.

It is said that he is able to get into the opposing side's penalty area due to that and is a goal-scoring defender.

His profile is certainly something Everton do not currently have, and would provide Moyes with a more positive option in his squad.

Whether Everton will formalise their interest with an offer remains to be seen but with Fort available for just £8.55m, it does feel like a market opportunity that can't be ignored.
