Everton boss David Moyes is continuing to keep tabs on Chelsea flop Liam Delap.

The Toffees are yet to truly make big changes to their squad in a pretty dull transfer window.

Hayden Hackney is the only fresh face to come through the door, while permanent deals have been sealed for Merlin Rohl and Tyrique George.

That has represented a great source of frustration on Merseyside as the summer continues.

The 23-year-old has seen his reputation fall down a number of rungs after his Stamford Bridge switch.

He was on top of the world after his breakout campaign in the Premier League with Ipswich Town.

They may have been relegated, but the Englishman's 12 goals and two assists certainly caught the eye.

Things haven't worked out for him in West London and he could now be on the move 12 months later.

A Merseyside move could be on the cards as The i Paper reported on Wednesday that Moyes is an admirer of the striker.

Delap is being viewed as an "ideal focal point" by Everton as they go in search of more firepower this summer.

Chelsea are said to value their number nine between £35million and £40m as various sides enter the race for his signature.

What could Delap bring to Everton?

His one goal at Stamford Bridge makes for pretty grim reading, but he could still make a difference at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

In his Ipswich days, he proved his worth by netting 12 while averaging 5.41 duels won, 1.38 successful dribbles and 0.72 chances created per 90 in the Premier League.

That all smacks of a player who could make his presence known if given the chance to work with Moyes.

The Toffees need a striker who knows where the net is and Delap could prove to be that man.

His physicality, speed and hold up play could suit Everton and see him return to the high-reputation ace that he was with Ipswich.
