'My fantastic former teammate Douglas Luiz is perfect for Everton manager David Moyes'

Henri Lansbury believes his former teammate Douglas Luiz would fit in at Everton.

The Brazilian has emerged as a target for the Toffees as they look to add to their midfield this summer.

Hayden Hackney has already come in as part of a highly anticipated move from Middlesbrough.

Pape Gueye has also emerged as a defensive-minded option after a positive World Cup campaign with Senegal.

It doesn't appear that the Blues are done there as the Juventus man continues to be linked with his signature.

Luiz could soon be on his way to Everton in a deal that Lansbury believes would be ideal for David Moyes.

It seems clear that the L3 outfit want to add more experience to their squad this summer.

That was done with Jack Grealish last year and could be replicated with another ex-Aston Villa man this time around.

Luiz currently finds himself at Juventus and has seriously struggled to prove his worth in Serie A.

That has seen Italian outlet Calciomercato report that Everton hold an interest in the midfielder and have enquired to see if the Old Lady would be willing to sell.

They are willing to listen to offers and former Villa Park teammate Lansbury believes he could be suited perfectly to Everton.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Lansbury said: "Douglas is a fantastic player and I wish him all the best.

"It will show when he plays game after game, he will come on leaps and bounds like he did at Villa.

"He'd probably suit David Moyes, so that's a good match-up."

How good could Luiz be for Everton?

Lansbury has an insight on the Brazilian having featured alongside him 10 times for Aston Villa.

The idea that he needs consistent minutes to hit his best form could prove to be ideal for the Blues.

He proved exactly that with the Villans in the 2023/24 season where he contributed with 20 goal involvements across all competitions.

Luiz was afforded 53 appearances that year and has only made a combined 61 in the two campaign's since.

If he could make the move to Hill Dickinson Stadium and pick up those regular minutes, he could prove to be a true weapon for Moyes and Co.
