Tyrique George to Everton: Everything we know as Chelsea exit still on cards
Tyrique George could still move to Everton permanently this summer.
The Toffees signed the winger from Chelsea in the winter window on a loan-to-buy deal last season.
George struggled for game time under David Moyes, but impressed Evertonians with the short cameos he did make at Hill Dickinson.
The left-winger spot will be one that the Blues will mull over this summer, especially with the future of Jack Grealish uncertain.
Moyes is keen to bring Grealish back to Merseyside if the Manchester City outcast recovers from his injury well, but cover for the Englishman would still be needed.
Everton like some of George's qualities, and are still interested in learning what it would take to sign him from Chelsea permanently.
Tyrique George's buy option revealed as Everton stance clear
Moyes has publicly said that Everton like George, though in a similar case to Grealish, the included buy option is too high for the loanee.
According to The Athletic, Everton are expected to opt against the decision to trigger the Englishman's £25million buy option.
However, it's said that the Toffees are still mulling over whether they should try to negotiate with Chelsea over a separate transfer fee to bring him back.
Chelsea were already prepared to sell George in January, according to The Standard, and the London side may have seen his move to Everton as one that was sure to benefit them.
However, after a mixed bag in Merseyside, the 20-year-old's future still looks uncertain in the Premier League.
Everton may have price cap for George
Joe Thomas has revealed that there is a willingness at Hill Dickinson to keep George beyond the 2025-26 season, but on conditions that suit them.
Everton already had their share of poor transfers for young players last summer, and may be worried by the £25m price tag.
Moyes and Co. may also feel like the forward's value could have dropped due to a lack of end product in his short stay at Hill Dickinson, which would naturally cause for a lower sale.
Everton may have an internal idea of how much they are willing to spend on George, but there could be multiple factors that influence their decision on whether they will open talks with Chelsea once again.
Other transfers are more pressing priorities right now, with the likes of Grealish, Hayden Hackney and a new right-back all on the agenda.
