What David Moyes has said about Jack Grealish as door opens to Everton return

Jack Grealish will continue to dominate the headlines at Everton until the transfer window slams shut.

Thankfully, that is weeks away given the state that David Moyes' squad is currently in.

Hayden Hackney is the only brand new face, with Tyrique George and Merlin Rohl signing permanently too.

But, with Iliman Ndiaye now heavily linked with an exit from Hill Dickinson Stadium, fans are getting nervous.

The only thing that could likely remedy that, is the return of Grealish.

And as Manchester City jet away on their pre-season tour ahead of the Premier League's return, the door has opened for Everton.

Why Jack Grealish will leave Manchester City again

Goodison News has heavily covered Everton's interest in bringing Grealish back to Merseyside next season.

After injury in January ended his season prematurely in blue, there have been calls eversince for him to re-sign.

Now, that time is getting closer.

Grealish has been left out of City's tour of Asia under new manager Enzo Maresca, with his injury noted as the reason.

But, given he is back on the grass and training again, that appears to be somewhat of an excuse.

Everton did have a £50m buy option for Grealish last season, but obviously decided against that given his injury.

With talks of a cut-price deal being possible or even another loan, a conclusion is quickly approaching.

What has David Moyes said about Jack Grealish return?

Moyes will be desperate for attacking reinforcements.

Speaking via the Liverpool Echo, the Everton boss has already discussed Grealish and how the Toffees have helped him in his recovery.

"Obviously we like Jack a lot. We've looked after Jack all the time since his injury," he said.

"He is incredibly well liked inside and outside the building but ultimately he is not our player, he is Man City’s player. We've had him on loan for a year and I have to say we've enjoyed having him."

That is a manager who clearly loves the attacker, and would welcome him back with open arms.

Should Ndiaye leave with interest from Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia, Everton would look worryingly blunt in the final third.

With George and Tyler Dibling likely next in line for those two spots, it's clear that more quality is needed.

Moyes doesn't exactly trust the pair massively, but he may have to very soon if someone like Grealish isn't signed.

Of course, there is plenty of time left in the transfer window, but it moves very quickly.

As Premier League rivals continue to strengthen, Everton really need to start pulling their finger out, or risk getting left behind.

Grealish is exactly what they need.
