What Marseille expect as Everton ready Amine Gouiri transfer swoop

Everton are keeping tabs on Marseille forward Amine Gouiri.

The Toffees are yet to truly add new attacking depth to their squad at this stage of the window.

Tyrique George has made his move permanent from Chelsea and has looked good in pre-season under David Moyes.

That isn't to say that further additions at the top end of the pitch wouldn't go amiss.

The Algeria international has now emerged as a target after his first full campaign with OM.

French outlet L'Equipe reported on Tuesday that Marseille are expecting offers to be made for Gouiri before the window ends.

Everton are said to be following him closely, while Como, Lazio, Atletico Madrid and Villarreal are also interested.

OM boss Bruno Genesio wants to keep the Algeria international, but the Ligue 1 side have been forced to sell various talents for financial reasons throughout the summer.

How much could Gouiri cost Everton?

There is hope that the search for a new attacker will finally intensify on Merseyside.

That could see a move for the 26-year-old accelerate as the window edges closer to deadline day.

It appears that the Toffees are only interested at this stage, but the question remains of how much they could spend if they made a move.

A fee would likely be between £20million and £30m given Marseille spent around £16m on him in January 2025.

He went on to bag 16 goals and assists in his debut campaign, so OM will likely go in search of a profit to arrange a sale.

That could prove to be a useful price for Everton to pay, especially if they grow desperate as the end of the window looms.
