What we know as Everton eye move for Burnley's Zian Flemming
Everton are one of a number of club's looking to sign Zian Flemming.
The Toffees are hoping to ramp up business in the final weeks of the window, with right-back still the priority.
Supporters have been growing impatient with the work completed by the Blues this summer.
And David Moyes has admitted he would have liked more done so far with the Premier League season now just days away.
However, for Flemming his season has already begun, with him netting two goals on the opening day of the Championship.
With Everton now possibly opening up a route back into the Premier League for 2026-2027.
What has been said about Everton's interest in Zian Flemming?
The number nine position is an enigmatic one at Everton and while Beto and Thierno Barry have shown signs of life at times, they have not definetively proved themselves.
A move for a new centre-forward does appear to be on the cards based on reports throughout the summer.
Everton have been concretely linked with a move for Liam Delap throughout most of the window.
But with Chelsea's price tag potentially off putting, attentions could turn elsewhere.
According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Everton are interested in a move for Flemming this summer.
They are joined by clubs in Italy, France and the Netherlands, however, no names of the possible competition they would face have been given.
Flemming proved himself to be a capable top flight forward in the 2025-2026 season, where he netted 12 Premier League goals, despite Burnley's relegation.
And with the Dutch striker in the Championship, he could prove to be a much cheaper option than the likes of a Delap.
What has Burnley manager Nicky Hayen said about Flemming's future?
Whether or not Burnley sanction the sale of Flemming would remain to be seen, especially with Jacobs maintaining the Clarets want to keep him.
Speaking after the 2-2 draw on Sunday, Nicky Hayen urged Flemming to remain until at least January.
He stated as relayed by BBC Sport: "I've said the way we play suits him so maybe it's the best choice for him to stay because he can be even more important than before and maybe wait for six-and-a-half months for the winter break because it can change every time."
Interestingly, Moyes was also in attendance as Burnley took on West Ham at Turf Moor, in what may have been a scouting mission for the striker.
Now, it may be clear as to the reason for that Turf Moor appearance from Moyes, with Flemming's two goals certainly making a big impression.
Hopefully business will now begin to ramp up for the Toffees, who will be targeting those European places once more.
