Why Everton decision over Jack Grealish return looks very close amid images from Man City HQ

Everton supporters may soon get some clarity over whether Jack Grealish is wanted from Manchester City on a permanent deal.

Grealish instantly won over Everton fans last season during a spell on loan at Hill Dickinson Stadium from City.

The 30-year-old scored two goals and assisted six more in 20 appearances for the Toffees.

However, an injury in January brought an early end to his time on Merseyside.

Talk over a possible permanent move for Grealish has not gone away all summer.

And it may well be that Everton will have to show their hands amid a development shared by the attacker himself on social media.

When Grealish sustained a foot injury against former club Aston Villa in January, nobody expected him to miss the next four months.

It also killed off any hopes the 39-cap England international had of competing in the World Cup.

It turned out that surgery was also required to solve the stress fracture, so Grealish's absence has been prolonged even longer.

However, Grealish confirmed via his personal Instagram account on Monday that he is "nearly there" in terms of his recovery.

Grealish shared photos from City Football Academy, where Man City train, on day one of pre-season training.

He added: "Hopefully not long now till back training for good."

And this could be the update Everton need to finally make a move - if indeed they are serious about signing him.

Why Everton have been holding off on Grealish move

David Moyes would clearly love to have Grealish back at Finch Farm for this coming season.

The Scotsman knows what Grealish can offer his attack when fully fit.

Everton have already signed up Tyrique George permanently after a spell on loan, as well as Merlin Rohl.

As previously covered by Goodison News, Everton have been waiting for Grealish to return to fitness before deciding whether to make a bid.

Everton are prepared to pay £60m for Grealish and Rico Lewis, it has been reported, but there has been nothing concrete so far.

With Grealish now pretty much back to fitness, it is time for Everton to make a decision one way or another.
