Why no-brainer opportunity may have just presented itself to Everton outcast Tyler Dibling
Tyler Dibling has been linked with a move to RB Leipzig this week in a move that could suit the Everton winger down to the ground.
Dibling has struggled since his move from Southampton last summer.
He made 14 appearances last season, but this number can be misleading when his 350 total minutes in the Premier League are considered.
A year on from a move worth up to £42million, the 20-year-old faces an uncertain future on Merseyside as Leipzig want to sign Dibling.
Interested party Leipzig finished third in the Bundesliga last term, and could offer Champions League football.
And alongside this, there are a handful of other reasons as to why a move to the East German side could be an absolute no-brainer for the youngster.
What are the instant benefits for Tyler Dibling?
After he impressed for Southampton, Hill Dickinson Stadium was deemed as the place for Dibling to explode in the Premier League.
However, he never fully got the chance to impress under David Moyes, who continued to stick with his favourites despite the slump at the end of the season.
Should Dibling move on, regular football is an absolute must.
Leipzig are famed for their ability to develop young talent, with Yan Diomande the latest to move on for a huge sum after successful spells for Benjamin Sesko, Xavi Simons, Dominik Szoboszlai, Dayot Upamecano and more.
The entire list would take up multiple pages, while the quality of football itself would be a huge attraction, alongside the previous history with emerging prospects.
After a year away, the Saxon club sealed their return to the Champions League last term.
Dibling would need to prove himself worthy of a spot in the first team, but the club would certainly be patient with him, while the chance to shine on the biggest stage could be an absolute no-brainer.
Everton, though, may regret not doing enough to convince him otherwise.
David Moyes may have made a huge error amid Dibling latest
For a player joining for such a fee, 350 league minutes is a quite frankly, an unacceptable figure.
Toffees boss Moyes must take his fair share of the blame for this, too.
Despite the struggles of his trusted favourites towards the back end of the season, the Scotsman remained reluctant to try something different, and even came up with the idea of deploying midfielder-by-trade Merlin Rohl out wide during the final weeks.
As of now, Dibling has been given no reason as to why he should consider staying on Merseyside if an opportunity arises elsewhere.
Should he go on and reach his potential elsewhere, Toffees fans will always be left to wonder what could have been.
