Jack Grealish appealed for a penalty as Everton faced Wolves in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.

Just before the break, the England international was brought down after making one of his mazy runs into the opposition box.

Thomas Bramall had a clear view of the incident but waved it off as the 31-year-old winger made his plea.

Grealish may have had a case for an argument after being brought down in the Wolves box at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

The Manchester City loanee was constantly targeted by the opposition players, who fouled him on several occasions.

With David Moyes' team involved in a tight affair in Merseyside, a penalty could've settled the nerves before the second half in L3.

Grealish may have had a case after being brought down in the third minute of added time in the first half.

The Wolves player tripped the forward as he made his way to goal.

Speaking to Goodison News, Keith Hackett said, "The Wolves player was guilty of a careless challenge on Jack Grealish, who may feel aggrieved that a penalty kick was not awarded.

"The defender also used his left hand/arm to prevent Grealish going forward."

Going by the former FIFA referee's assessment, Bramall clearly failed to spot the offence.

Brennan Johnson replaced the French striker at around the hour mark and played a central role for Moyes' team.

The former Tottenham Hotspur ace offered the Blues pace in behind Wolves' defence and forced a save from Virginia once.

Charly Alcaraz eventually scored the winner for the Merseyside outfit in the 80th minute, and Moyes' team have qualified for the next round after a narrow 1-0 victory.
