Everton fan frustrations to hit boiling point after latest David Moyes transfer push
Everton are looking to recover after a disappointing end to the 2025-26 campaign, but have done themselves no favours yet.
After a season full of positives, David Moyes’ side would limp over the line to finish 13th in the Premier League.
Involved in the race for Europe just over a month before this, Toffees fans would feel severe frustration watching their side stumble, with a seven-match winless run completing the term.
As a result, the pressure is on both Moyes and the club to spark some form of hope heading into the coming season.
That has not proven the case so far, with little to no work done on the recruitment side of things.
And based on recent reports involving Moyes and a potential transfer target, the frustration among fans could hit boiling point.
Everton transfer reveal to anger fans
Everton’s 2025-26 recruitment ultimately proved poor a year on, despite the millions being spent.
Outside of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, none of the Blues’ signings were able to make a real impact, while Jack Grealish spent months out on the sidelines.
However, this is down to Moyes more than it is any of those who joined, with the likes of Merlin Rohl, Tyler Dibling and Adam Aznou simply not getting a fair chance to prove their worth.
Now, the Scotsman is said to be interested in a reunion with Jarrod Bowen, who he was able to get the best out of at West Ham.
A talismanic figure in the Premier League, Bowen has been sensational at the London Stadium, though yet again, Moyes is leaning towards his favourites.
Everton’s squad is not exactly on the younger side, and adding a soon-to-be 30-year-old does nothing to aid this.
When the Blues should be future-proofing their squad and starting a project for fans to believe in, the manager seems hell bent on experience - when the proof is there to see last season that this does not always work.
How much longer can David Moyes withstand pressure from Everton fans?
Months before the season even starts, Moyes is under serious pressure from the fanbase.
Europe was never the expectation last term, but in March, fans saw their club in a strong situation that they had not been in for a long time, before all of the progress was undone following the international break.
If the Blues start poorly in August, the pressure on the boss is only going to continue increasing.
All supporters want is a project to get behind, whether this be with younger players, a discernible style of play, or the belief that there is a manager and squad to work with.
Not a single of these boxes are currently being ticked at Hill Dickinson Stadium, and a summer of poor recruitment, or to blindly follow Moyes’ favourites, will only see the pressure reach boiling point before a ball is even kicked.
So many clubs are showing ambition in the Premier League, and as of now, Everton are not one of them.
